MEDIA FREEDOM AS A CONDITION FOR DEMOCRATIC ELECTIONS
Our expert participated at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council or Europe Committee on Culture, Science, Education and Media hearing focusing on “Media freedom as a condition for democratic elections” which took place in Paris on 22 - 23 March 2017. The hearing was held on the subject was held in preparation of a report being prepared by the committee on the identical subject (rapporteur Ms Bilgehan, Turkey, Socialist Group). Our expert was invited to share his experience on the subject but also as a follow-up to his role as rapporteur on a parliamentary debate which took place in the German Parliament on 4 July 2015 in Berlin (“Media freedom as a cornerstone for democratic elections”).
