Evasive decisions on complaint by NGOs show worrying cracks in independent oversight of Slovakia’s public broadcaster
Slovak and international NGOs (Via Iuris, MEMO 98, TIS, RSF) regret the lack of adequate action by the media regulator (Council for Media Services) over systemic breaches of professional standards, concerning impartiality and pluralism, in the TV news coverage of the Slovak public broadcaster (STVR), and condemn the overall ignorance by its oversight body (STVR Council) on their April complaint.
